On July 21, 2020, KATS (Korean Agency for Technology and Standards) issued a new notice: KC 62133-2 was officially confirmed and started to use. The CB reports and certificates of the corresponding international standards IEC 62133-2012 and IEC 62133-2017 can be accepted to apply KC certificate before December 31, 2020.

In addition, the notice also stipulates that starting from August 1, 2021, a lithium battery used in a product with a maximum speed of 25km/h, such as an e-bike, will be controlled by KC 62133-2.
